The study contributes to the proposal of the Commission for an EU legal framework for the placing on the market of plant biostimulants (PB) and agronomic fertiliser additives (AFA). In more details, the objectives of the study are to 1) analyse existing regulatory systems for plant biostimulants and agronomic fertiliser additives in the EU, Member States and Third Countries; and 2) develop a proposal for the most appropriate regulatory framework that should be established in the context of the revised Fertiliser Regulation. In particular, the study aims to elaborate on the relevant data requirements and administration of the planned EU Registry for these two sub-categories of fertilising materials.
